Pike Place Market began in 1907 as a way for the small farmer to personally meet with a large mass of consumers. Today it is the oldest continually operated public farmers’ markets in the United States. There are several lower levels on the slope above Western Avenue that house a huge range of shops offering a myriad of products. It’s the street level that most of the 10 million annual visitors want to visit. That portion extends from 1st Avenue along Pike Place, past Pine & Stewart to Virginia.
Market Court sits on the corner of Lenora & Western. The lobby entrance literally opens onto Western Avenue just one block north of the Market where the vendors sell their wares from tables in a “fresh air stroll n’ shop” atmosphere. Built in 1989, this 7-story low-rise building contains 69 homes most with 10’ ceilings, private patios, over-sized windows and more than 1,000 square feet.
Owners enjoy an on-site manager, secure parking and lobby and a lushly landscaped, award-winning “secrete garden.”
