The 1962 World’s Fair in Seattle was the third major event to put this sleepy little burg on the map. The gold rush of 1898 and the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition of 1909 were the other two. The Space Needle is the most widely known remnant from those days but its the Monorail that the locals love. It was built to link the visitors of the fairgrounds with the rooms and amenities of Downtown.
5th Avenue Court, built in 1922, has watched the Monorail pass by its front door for the last 40+ years with a quiet smirk. Sitting solidly on 5th Avenue this 3-story brick building also is a link between two neighborhoods; Denny Triangle and Belltown. It was renovated into 32 condominiums in 2007 and filled with new cabinets, granite countertops, stainless appliances, vinyl windows, washer/dryer units and stylish flooring including a marble entry and hardwoods. It’s a pet friendly community that features a courtyard for all residents to enjoy.
From 1922 to 1962 to 2007, this well positioned patriarch sits proudly and watches the little town continue to grow.
